About: Mesa Arizona Non-profit violently robbed for bounce houses fundraiser

Halloween Addition: Oct, 30th - 31st. 2021. (outdoor) FREE toy and trick & treating for the kids.

Hello, my name is Marcus Duke I'm the executive director of a local non-profit here in Mesa Arizona we have been in business since 1996 out of Milwaukee Wisconsin in 2016 I won the BET award for my community service working with gangs.

After enduring the pandemic like most other businesses we were able to survive barely and try to build for the future. We were able to lease a building at 714 East Brown road in Mesa for our shop/studio for club kids a place where we can work on, clean, and prepare the equipment.

The incident:

On Sunday the 25th, we were unloading a truck full of supplies to move into the new location however it started raining and didn't let up until the 26th that Sunday... I stepped out to grab something to eat for dinner and when I returned I noticed a white pickup truck was in my parking space, so as I pulled around I also noticed a smaller white car with two White/Hispanic ladies loading up supplies. So I jumped out immediately and told them that the stuff is not free and ask them to please return it... However the ladies started arguing with me and approaching me to distract me from the heavier set White / Hispanic male in the white pickup truck as he drove off with all of the supplies... so I made a bad decision and decided to chase the pickup truck down on foot... I was able to get just barely to the back of the truck before he pulled off, so I held on as he dragged me for about 40 ft. At that time he was picking up so much speed that I decided it was in my best interest to just let go.

So after tumbling a few more feet and busting up my knee, I seen the white car pulling out of the driveway... so the lady driver aimed the car at me and hit the accelerator. I was able to jump on the curb out of the way.
